How to look good in photos!

Ever wondered how celebrities always look good in photos? Well, there are a few tricks used by professionals that you can use to look your best in snaps or selfies.

Posing
Posing is extremely important and one thing that you have control over. There are certain poses that will accentuate the positives and minimise the negatives for you. One that works for most people is to turn the lower half of your body away at about a 45 degree angle, and then twist your upper half to look towards the camera. This will minimise your waist and accentuate your curves. It also helps to cross your legs or knees over as in this picture.

Also by lifting your arms away from your body any upper arm flab is minimised! Pull your shoulders back and down with chest slightly out for perfect posture.

My all time most important tip is to keep your neck extended and chin lifted. This will give a more youthful appearance.

Facial expression
Figure out which is your best side (apparently for most people it is the left!) and work it! Also determine which facial expression suits you - is it a full cheesy grin or a more demure hint of a smile? I'm telling you now it is NOT duck face!!

Tilting your face at a slight angle (while still extending your neck) can make your face look slimmer.

Lighting
This is something that you can't always control, but given an option, make use of natural light or an even, soft light source. The flash on a phone camera up close can be quite harsh and unflattering.

Angle
When taking a picture of yourself, angle the camera slightly above your eye level. Don't let anyone snap a photo of you from below, it will add chins!

Let me know if you have any tips!
